Because our standards are much higher, before they do their very first job with Davis we put them through an intensive training program. 2. Davis Deejays are our employees. Davis Deejays has an employer/employee relationship with our deejays. We provide the disc jockey employees the top-of-the-line equipment they use. We provide the special music you ask for, and in general make sure our disc jockeys perform to our high standards. As employees they work exclusively for us as disc jockeys.
3. Davis Deejays deliver what we promise. When you contract for Davis to play a certain song, handle a particular announcement a certain way, or bring certain equipment, you can rest assured that is exactly what will happen. We guarantee it in writing. We are so confident that your Davis Deejay will show up on time with properly functioning, quality equipment that we are the only company in the area who offers a triple-your-money back guarantee in the very, very unlikely event the disc jockey is late or has malfunctioning equipment. To protect you, we put this in writing on your contract.
4. Davis Deejays display no advertising. We don’t use your party to promote our business. Because we do a good job, you’ll probably tell your guests who we are. We don’t want to spoil the beauty of the location by hanging tacky signs.
5. Davis Deejays give you music flexibility. With our ever-expanding library of over 425,000 songs on CDs and digital files, we can mix the music to the taste of any crowd. You are more than welcome to make requests. We take responsibility for providing music to our deejays.
6. Davis Deejays use high-quality professional equipment. Top of the line models from name brands such as Bose, JBL and Electrovoice cost us more, but the difference in fidelity is worth it. Music is played on CD players and laptops for crystal clear sound.
7. Davis Deejays dress for the occasion. Because we understand how important good taste is for a formal function such as a wedding, we do not charge extra for tuxedos. If you prefer, for more casual functions, our deejays can dress neatly in a suit or however you like.
8. Davis Deejays backup is like DJ insurance. We have an impressive track record of being at the right place at the right time. Even though our deejays are extremely responsible, being human, sooner or later one of them could get sick or in an accident. We prepare ahead of time for those very rare emergencies by always having disc jockeys unscheduled and available so they can quickly get to your destination. Furthermore, as additional backup, we have staff in the office who ARE disc jockeys. And our office is in constant touch with the company management-team professionals with 80 years of combined disc jockey experience between them -- via cellular phone and beepers, and they also can be backup. With regard to equipment, ours is well maintained, in excellent condition, and each Davis Deejay has a full extra sound system with him including an extra amplifier, extra speakers, an extra mixer and extra CD players. OTHER DEEJAYS
1. To save money, most other companies hire beginners with their own equipment who are willing to work cheap. These companies don’t have any internal training program. Their idea of "training" is sending the rookie to observe one DJ doing one party. In other words, in many cases, the rookie will be getting his feet wet making mistakes at your party at your expense.
2. Other area companies have loose arrangements with independent subcontractors. Their disc jockeys consider themselves self-employed and not an employee of the larger company. The subcontractor usually provides his own equipment and music and the main company is not aware of his inventory. The company does not control, supervise, or follow up on what these subcontractors do. Many of the subcontractors also advertise on their own and are available from several disc jockey companies simultaneously. This means the companies have no quality control whatsoever.
3. Some other companies, jealous of our success, will try to convince you on the phone that they are as good as we are. They even use bits and pieces of our brochure material to create the illusion they can be as accommodating as we are. Don’t be fooled by smooth talking sales people, and don’t settle for second best. Check references and make sure they are recent and local! Also, beware of the smaller companies who use "bait and switch" tactics. They reel in customers by showing them videotapes of the one or two good deejays they have or send high pressure sales people to your home to twist your arm, then send out several unqualified, less experienced people to actually do the jobs.
4. Most other deejays figure they have the right to hang ugly banners all over the room, and most have signs built-in that cannot be removed. Some deejays constantly advertise their companies on the mike or run from table to table handing out promotional materials. Do you want this at your party?
5. Some other deejay companies limit you to the music their subcontractors have on hand. Others limit you to a tiny pre-printed list of artists and do not honor requests ahead of time.
6. Some other deejays use a hodgepodge of off-brand junk and in some cases make their own tinny little speakers. Many companies are still spinning the same scratchy, worn-out vinyl 45s and LPs they should have thrown out 10 years ago.
7. Some services charge extra for tuxedos. Some have no dress code at all! Do you want an unshaven guy in a t-shirt and torn jeans at your wedding?
8. Most smaller disc jockey companies are tiny, part-time operations. The fly-by-nighters can’t afford to pay backup disc jockeys. They have to schedule and use all their deejays and equipment to keep their heads above water. If your deejay gets sick, you have to find a replacement. If their amplifier fails, your party is over. Some independent disc jockeys verbally accept a job, then cancel for a higher price booking.
9. Some companies try to be a "Jack of All Trades." They offer you photography, travel, invitations and almost as an afterthought - disc jockeys. You wouldn’t go to a plumber to have your teeth checked, so why go to a photographer for disc jockey services? And beware of booking agencies that specialize in live bands that handle a few disc jockeys as a sideline. They are using "independent" DJs and don’t have the foggiest idea of what these deejays are up to.
10. Other companies have one level of service. They charge as much for the people they just hired as they do for the guys who have been with them a few years. We don’t think that’s right.
11. Most other deejay services cut corners and avoid insurance.
12. Other deejays ask you to " buy a pig in a poke." They claim that they have good
deejays, but have no video samples for you to compare.
